Opportunities for Giving
The Penn State Annual Fund
Contributions made by Penn State DuBois’ alumni and friends during the last fiscal year (2007-2008) helped make the following possible:
- More scholarships for our students, 99% of whom receive financial aid and might not otherwise be able to afford a Penn State education.
- A variety of new and ongoing programs and activities that enrich the educational experience of our students.
- A trustee matching scholarship, established by the DuBois Educational Foundation.
- The purchase of new equipment for the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapy Assistant Programs, as well as a new Leica Petrographic Microscope for the Earth and Mineral Sciences Department.
During the 2008-2009 fiscal year, we anticipate that gifts made by our alumni and friends will help support:
- new and existing campus athletic programs;
- undergraduate research;
- foreign travel opportunities;
- faculty and staff professional development programs; and
- ongoing maintenance and improvement of campus facilities and other instructional resources.
Annual gifts could provide Penn State DuBois with the following support:
A gift of $1,000 to the Penn State DuBois Trustee Scholarship Fund or the Alumni Society Trustee Scholarship will provide scholarship support that the University will match in perpetuity. A gift at this level will also provide important support for faculty and student research.
A gift of $500 will provide significant support for campus varsity athletics, including our championship women’s cross country team, our championship men’s basketball team, and our new women’s basketball team. A gift at this level can also help provide students with foreign travel opportunities that might not otherwise be possible.
A gift of $100 provides two children (ages 2-13) with the opportunity to attend the Kids-in-College summer program. A gift at this level will also help support professional development programs and activities for campus faculty and staff.
As we approach the 75th Anniversary of our campus in 2010, we continue to be “the best campus at the best university” for students of all ages from the north central mountains and, increasingly, from across the Commonwealth and the nation.
