Opportunities for Giving

The Penn State Annual Fund

Unrestricted gifts to the campus support our major initiatives, including the expansion of academic programs, increasing student scholarships, maintaining and improving the technology infrastructure, and providing extracurricular student activities. With your help the New Kensington campus can provide support where the need is greatest.

Contributions made during the 2004-2005 fiscal year helped make possible:

  • Art Gallery exhibits and cultural activities for students and the community
  • Support for our growing baccalaureate and master's degree programs
  • Endowed Scholarships
  • Annual classroom renovations
  • Awards for annual student research fair
  • Four-year athletics eligibility for all campus varsity sports

Endowments

Benefits of Endowments

Endowed gifts are held by the University in perpetuity. The initial gift is invested and only a portion of the average annual investment return is spent. The remaining income is added to the principal as protection against inflation. We would like our alumni, friends, staff, and faculty to consider focusing on campus endowments. Most of these funds are scholarships named for individuals or families who are closely connected tot he campus. We are grateful to the alumni and friends who have demonstrated their commitment to Penn State New Kensington students and faculty through campus endowments.

Gift Levels:

    • $2,500--Scholarship aid for students in the campus honors program.
    • $500--Grant support for faculty research project supplies.
    • $250--Lab supplies.
    • $100--Honorarium for a speaker.
    • $75--Books and materials for Elisabeth S. Blissell Library.
