Giving to Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Many of the University's finest accomplishments have been made possible by men and women who have chosen to benefit future generations of Penn Staters. There are a variety of ways to make a gift to Penn State Wilkes-Barre, and our Office of Institutional Advancement looks forward to working with you to help provide a better future for the University and our students. Some gift options include:

Academic Commons Capital Campaign

Our $8 million capital campaign to build the Abram Nesbit II Academic Commons will provide a variety of academic enhancements to our students. This exciting project will include an enhanced and expanded library with an art gallery. lecture hall, classrooms, special study spaces, academic support services, career services, and a cyber cafe.

The additional 33,000 square feet of new space will provide the much needed services to the students and the community that we serve.

The Penn State Annual Fund

The Annual Fund for Academic Excellence conducted by Penn State Wilke-Barre raises funds to support scholarships and faculty development, and other program enhancements. The greatest percentage of funds raised support scholarships. In addition to soliciting our Advisory Board, faculty and staff, and alumni, we also solicit philanthropic gifts from our community and friends.

Memorial Endowments

Penn State Wilkes-Barre has a variety of scholarship funds named in honor or in memory of faculty members, alumni and friends. Some memorial tribute funds are long-term interest bearing accounts but most are endowment funds. In addition, our Scholarship Pathway was recently endowed as a fund for donors to support from a $125-$5,000 gift and includes several sizes of bricks to recognize their support.
