Graduate Student Fellowships

Competition for quality doctoral students is intense, and high quality students are increasingly discerning in their choices of graduate institutions. In this environment, graduate fellowships help Penn State to recruit and retain the most capable, creative, and innovative advanced-degree candidates.

Currently, the University is able to award eighty such fellowships to the most talented graduate students across the University. It is the goal of the Distinguished Graduate Fellowship Program to double the number of these important fellowships.

Distinguished Graduate Fellowship: $250,000

• Awarded on a competitive basis, these awards provide a tuition waiver, health insurance, and monthly stipend.
• They take into consideration the graduate student's talent and need, the benefactor's wishes, and the colleges' needs.
