General Deposit

• Upon admission to Penn State, all undergraduate students are required to make a general deposit to of $100. This deposit serves to safeguard the property and equipment used by students in their work. This deposit is held until graduation.

• Most Penn State students use the general deposit to support their Senior Class Gift.

• Whether you choose to make your gift online, when speaking to a Penn State representative, or at one of the many Senior Class Gift events, you have the option to turn your general deposit into a gift.

• When you agree to have your general deposit donated to your Senior Class Gift, the money does not become a gift until you graduate. So, if you need it before then, it is still there to use.
