Why It Matters
During fiscal year 2005-2006:
- 82 percent of Penn State students receive financial aid
- 66 percent of students graduate with debt ($17,500 average debt)
- Only 23 percent of Penn State undergraduate students received a University scholarship, though many more qualify
Facts & Figures
- There are 126 endowed funds created by Penn State Alumni Association Chapters, AIGs, and Alumni Societies. This means approximately 45% of all groups have established an endowed fund.*
- Last year, these endowments award $269,974 to Penn State students and faculty.

In addition, 10 alumni groups support annually funded awards and scholarships.
